TUNAWEZA APP LAUNCH

We have invested significant resources working with and learning from young people across Africa to tailor a solution that works. Tunaweza is a social network of mentors, employers and learners- freely available to anyone who wants to better prepare themselves for the workplace or become an entrepreneur.
Tunaweza is a mobile social media learning platform for members to share useful workplace knowledge and experiences with each other. We encourage individuals to support each other through mentorship and peer assessment to not only help them grow but also help them build the bridges to help their communities as well.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Every child has a right to education, wherever they are, whether male or female but not all children get to exercise this vital right.
We identified a gnawing gap in mentorship among girls in rescue centres’ which we want to use our program to get rid of it as best as possible.

SUSTAINABLE FASHION

This was a school project which we were to look into current trends, brands and industries that we might be interested in working with. We looked at the brand/ company project and by doing so we looked at what could be missing and, suggest an innovative idea, a way forward that could help a the brand, a category, a start-up in moving forward.
My interest was in sustainable fashion and i picked H&M as the company to work with.
The innovative idea was to find out how their sustainable initiatives can be more diverse, inclusive and efficient.

RESEARCH PROJECT

Fast fashion is a term used to describe a highly profitable and exploitative business model based on replicating catwalk trends and high-fashion designs, mass-producing them at low cost.

There has been a clear shift in consumer trends and buying behavior, with young people leading the way. Customers are making more conscious decisions when it comes to sustainability, ethical production, and shopping with purpose, placing increasing pressure on brands to do better but fast fashion is still popular and trendy among young people more so these days with the rise of technology and the age of social media.

The purpose of my research on fast fashion is to get a better understanding of what fast fashion is, if young people know and understand what it is, why it is so popular among the young people, factors that influence its popularity, common brands, and how they feel about fast fashion.

The main questions that the research will be answering are:

  • Do young people know what fast fashion is?

  • What are the ways young people engage in buying fast fashion?

  • Why is fast fashion popular among young people?

Game Strategy Plan

STRATEGIC PLANNING PROJECT

We worked with local entrepreneurial companies and applied some of the strategic management models, tools, and resources offered in the course.  The companies received a report compiled of a comprehensive ecosystem analysis (external and internal) and strategic recommendations for the future.
